| Datastar Incorporated was started in 1994 by owner David Lyles. Along with fellow early retirees of NCR, the company began by specializing in the maintenance and sales of NCR equipment such as UNIX based towers. Many companies preferred to prolong the life of both their mainframes and high speed printers. Therefore DataStar took on these tasks by utilizing flexible door-to-door service.
As the nature of business changed, so did the direction of Datastar, Inc. We branched out into all major manufacturers specializing in all facets of small business' hardware needs. We began custom building our own servers and desktop computers to be more cost effective and easily service our customers. Today DataStar, Inc. is responsible for maintaining over fifty companies across North and South Carolina. The list includes such companies as; Freeman Gas Company, TMS South,White Horse Packaging and Asoociates, and West Anderson Water. DataStar has grown right along side the Upstate and will continue to do so with it's reputation for honesty and quality service. |
